Coaches Education
Competent coaches are critical to the long-term growth and success of our sport. The training and education of coaches plays an important role in ensuring sustainable athlete success from grassroots to high performance.
United World Wrestling Development Department oversees all UWW training and educational courses for coaches and has been continuously increasing its investment in wrestling coaches development.
Leadership Program for Elite Female Coaches
United World Wrestling is one of the IFs which have teamed up with the IOC’s Olympic Solidarity program to offer a 14-month programme for a limited number of high-performance coaches. The program is in direct support of Recommendation 6 of the IOC’s Gender Equality Review Project, which seeks to increase the share of female coaches at the Olympic Games.
The program will be managed by the Women’s Sport Leadership Academy at the University of Hertfordshire, Great Britain.
Scholarships for Coaches programs
Olympic Solidarity in general grants 2 scholarships per National Olympic Committee per year. Admitted candidates have the options to choose from the following partner organizations offering Sports Science Training:
- CAR – Barcelona (ESP);
- ICECP – Delaware/USOC (USA);
- PAISAC – Montreal (CAN);
- Sports Academy Lausanne – Lausanne (SUI);
- University of Physical Education – Budapest (HUN).
