About Vanesa

A two-time world champion, Vanesa KALADZINSKAYA (BLR) will be representing Belarus at the Olympic Games for the second time. After competing at the 2012 London Games, the Belarussian missed the Games in Rio but qualified for Tokyo by reaching the final at the European Qualifiers. She lost the final to Sofia MATTSSON of Sweden, 10-0. In London, she defeated Zhuldyz ESHIMOVA of Kazakhstan but lost to Carol HUYNH of Canada in the quarterfinals. But she won the World Championships the same year. After a gap of five years, she claimed the gold medal in Paris in 2017 by defeating Mayu MUKAIDA (JPN) in the final seconds. The same year she won the European Championships. She is married to Bulgarian weightlifter Siarhei HARANIN (BLR) and they have a son.
