About Adeline Maria

Gray, the first five-time World champion in U.S. history, heads into Tokyo as the No. 1 seed at 76 kg. Tokyo will mark her second Olympic Games. Coming off back-to-back World titles in ’14 and ‘15, Gray was a favorite at the Rio Olympics, but fell short. Since then, she collected World golds at the ’18 and ’19 World Championships in dominant fashion. Her first World gold came in 2012. Additionally, Gray earned bronze medals from the ’11 and ’13 World Championships. Gray has four Pan American titles to her name, including the 2015 Pan American Games and the ’18, ’19 and ’21 Pan American Championships. She has competed in only one Ranking Series event, the ’18 Klippan Lady Open, which she won. Gray trains at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado. She is married to Damaris Sanders.
