Zagreb Open Brackets Released

ZAGREB, Croatia (February 8) - United World Wrestling has released the brackets for the first Greco-Roman Ranking Series Event of the season, the Zagreb Open. 

The two-day tournament begins February 9.  The qualification and elimination rounds will be wrestled during the day on Saturday and the medal matches will be wrestled on Sunday evening.

Saturday (February 9) 
8:00 - 1st-day Medical examination & Weigh-in, all weight categories (No weight tolerance!) Sport Hall
10:30 - Qualification and elimination rounds, all weight categories (on 3 wrestling mats)

Sunday (February 10)
8:00 - 2nd-day weigh-in, all weight categories (No weight tolerance!) Sport Hall
10:30 - Repechage bouts and bronze medal matches (all categories)
17:30 - Opening ceremony and Final matches (all categories)

Advanced Beach Wrestling Course Now Available on UWW Academy

CORSIER-SUR-VEVEY, Switzerland (August 21) -- Beach Wrestling continues to grow around the world.  Each year more and more federations are introducing the style and competing at the events.  In 2023, UWW launched their first Beach Wrestling course on the UWW Academy.  UWW is excited to now launch their second Beach Wrestling course titled “Advanced Beach Wrestling Course: Rules – Training – Referees.”  This course goes more in-depth on those three areas and is divided into 6 separate modules.  Those modules include: The Bout, Scoring, Illegal Actions and Negative Wrestling, Beach Wrestling vs Olympic Styles, Strategies and Preparation for Training, and Referees – Roles and Responsibilities.
