#TBT: Zhumanazarova wins first senior medal at Bishkek Asian Championships

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan (June 7) --- World champion Meerim ZHUMANAZAROVA (KGZ) burst on the scene with a couple of junior-level medals. But the real breakthrough in her career was the 2018 Asian Championships. Wrestling in front of the home crowd, Zhumanazarova thrilled the fans with a high-paced 12-6 win over Divya KAKRAN (IND) to win a bronze medal at 68kg.

UWW launches coaches and mentorship program

CORSIER-SUR-VEVEY, Switzerland (June 29) — United World Wrestling has signed an agreement with the Hungarian Wrestling Federation for a mentorship program in addition to the coaches program delivered by the University of Hungary.

This is the first-ever coaches and mentorship program taking place from 8 April to 12 June in Budapest, Hungary.

The application for the Olympic Solidarity Coaches Scholarship Programme must be submitted through their respective National Olympic Committee and send a copy to: development@uww.org.

Application deadline: February 1, 2026
University of Hungary - Course dates: April 8 to May 28, 2026
KIMBA – HUN NF - Mentorship programme: May 29 to June 12, 2026
English proficiency is mandatory for applicants
