ZAGREB, Croatia (February 9) -- The Zagreb Open marked the start of the 2023 season and some of the biggest names in women's wrestling took the mat. Japan returned to the ranking series after a gap of four years. China, the USA, Azerbaijan and other strong nations too sent their teams to the competition.

Here are the 10 women's wrestling finals from the Zagreb Open

50kg: GOLD - Jiang ZHU (CHN) vs. Yui SUSAKI (JPN) 

53kg: GOLD - Akari FUJINAMI (JPN) vs. Bolortuya BAT OCHIR (MGL)

Round 5: Moe KIYOOKA (JPN) vs. Mariana DRAGUTAN (MDA)

57kg: GOLD - Yongxin FENG (CHN) vs. Sae NANJO (JPN)

59kg: Round 2 • Yui SAKANO (JPN) vs. Anastasia NICHITA (MDA)

GOLD: 62kg - Grace BULLEN (NOR) vs. Sakura MOTOKI (JPN)

65kg: GOLD - Mallory VELTE (USA) vs. Mahiro YOSHITAKE (JPN)

72kg: GOLD -  Skylar GROTE (USA) vs. Dalma CANEVA (ITA)

Amateur MMA World Championships 2025 Schedule

NOVI SAD, Serbia (August 27) -- The first-ever Amateur MMA World Championships under United World Wrestling will be held in Novi Sad from October 16 to 19.

The competition will be held in SPENS, Novi Sad on three mats in Men's and Women's categories. The weight classes will be:

Men's: 57kg, 62kg, 66kg, 71kg, 77kg, 84kg, 93kg, 100kg and 130kg
Women's: 50kg, 53kg, 57kg, 61kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and 90kg

Amateur MMA

The tournament will held across three days with finals on day two and three. For details of the schedule click here.

For registrations, UWW urges athletes to go through the country national federations and apply through UWW Athena.
