About Emilia Alina

Emilia VUC (ROU) will be making her second trip to the Olympics after competing at the Rio Games in 2016, finishing 18th after loss to Vinesh PHOGAT of India. Born in Restia, Romania, she qualified for the Tokyo Games by winning a silver medal at the 2019 World Championships. She suffered a technical superiority defeat to Mariya STADNIK of Azerbaijan. The three-time European championship medalist has been a consistent performer for Romania ever since she won a silver medal at the 2017 World Championships in Paris. That medal was the first-ever for any female wrestler from Romania at the senior worlds. She will be seeded second behind Stadnik for the Olympic Games.
