Un aperçu du Yasar Dogu

ISTANBUL, Turquie (le 10 juillet) --- Tous les regards convergent désormais sur la salle olympique des sports Bağcılar d'Istanbul, qui accueille le plus important événement de série de classement de l'année, le Yasar Dogu, du 11 au 14 juillet.

Ils étaient quatre et il n'en reste qu'un... Le Yasar Dogu sera le dernier tournoi permettant de gagner des points cette saison ; les quatre têtes de série de chaque catégorie de poids de lutte libre et de lutte féminine du championnat du monde 2019 seront donc connues après ce weekend.

Jusqu'ici cinq athlètes de lutte libre et lutte féminine ont acquis une tête de série No.1, mais 23 places de LL et 25 de LF restent à prendre .

La compétition de lutte libre affiche quatre champions olympiques et trois lutteurs classés No.1 mondiaux avec, en gros titre, la cinquème rencontre potentielle entre Jordan BURROUGHS (USA) et Frank CHAMIZO (ITA), stars de la discipline.

Les deux champions du monde se sont rencontrés quatre fois depuis que le double champion du monde des 70kg Chamizo a rejoint la catégorie olympique des 74kg la saison dernière. L'Américain détient l'avantage de leurs rencontres par 3-1 depuis sa victoire lors du Beat the Street, le combat pour la médaille de bronze des mondiaux l'année passée et le dernier Dan Kolov.

La seule victoire de Chamizo date du dernier Yasar Dogu, décrochée à l'arrachée sur le quadruple champion olympique et champion du monde et 10-10 sur critères. Un second titre consécutif au Yasar Dogu donnerait à Chamizo la tête de série No.1 aux mondiaux puisque le médaillé de bronze de Rio n'a besoin que de quatre points pour détrôner l'actuel No.1 mondial, le champion du monde en titre russe Zaubek SIDAKOV.

Si Chamizo accomplit cela, il se retrouvera en demi-finale dans le haut du tableau face au dauphin des mondiaux de Budapest et quatrième classé mondial Avtandil KENTCHADZE (GEO), Sidakov et Burroughs dans le bas. Ceci bien sûr si les têtes de série sont à la hauteur de leurs réputations.

Cette catégorie des 74kg comprend également le champion olympique Togurl ASGAROV (AZE) et le médaillé de bronze de Rio 2016 Soener DEMIRTAS (TUR), mais tous deux se sont depuis retirés du tournoi -- rendant le double médaillé mondial de bronze Yakup GOR (TUR) le plus crédible pour renverser Burroughs ou Chamizo.

Trois autres champions olympiques sur la ligne
Trois autres champions olympiques accompagneront Burroughs sur les tapis : Sharif SHARIFOV (AZE), Kyle SNYDER (USA) et, à domicile, Taha AKGUL.

Sharifov, titré à Londres et médaillé de bronze à Rio, est inscrit en 92kg, où il affrontera sans doute le champion du monde en titre et classé No.1 mondial J'Den COX (USA).

Champion à Rio, Kyle Snyder est classé deuxième mondial en 97kg et peut, avec deux petits points, détrôner Abdulrashid SADULAEV (RUS).

Taha Akgul, le quatrième du lot, vient à Istanbul muni de 50 points et n'a besoin que d'un seul point pour s'assurer dans le tableau des 125kg aux mondiaux une place à l'opposé de son grand rival Geno PETRIASHVILI (GEO). Selon les classements actuels, Taha et le troisième mondial russe Anzor KHIZRIEV sont à égalité, mais le Russe détient l'avantage sur critères grâce à sa cinquième place au dernier championnat du monde - devant Akgul.

Un autre lutteur cherchera à améliorer son classement et obtenir une meilleur tête de série : le classé cinquième mondial Nicholas GWIAZDOWSKI (USA). Le deux fois médaillé mondial de bronze est à cinq points du top 4 et pourrait chiper à Khizriev sa tête de série No.4.

Les No.1 mondiaux Punia et Erdin sur les tapis
Punia, classé No.1 en 65kg, concourra avec les 70kg et défendra son titre du Yasar Dogu. Il lui faudra mettre un terme aux prétentions du dauphin des mondiaux de Budapest Adam BATIROV (BRN) et du médaillé d'argent des mondiaux de Paris James GREEN (USA).

Batirov est classé deuxième de la catégorie des 70kg après avoir fait l'impasse sur la finale des mondiaux l'année dernière, tandis que Green est classé 37me.

Bien que Faith Erdin se soit assuré la tête de série No.1 des 86kg pour le championnat du monde prochain après que le champion du monde en titre David TAYLOR (USA) a subi une opération au genou droit, il sera présent sur les tapis du Yasar Dogu. Erdin devra se méfier de son compatriote Turk Selim YASAR et de Boris MAKOEV (SVK). Yasar a fini deuxième des JO 2016 et Makoev deuxième mondial en 2017.

Catégorie la plus disputée en LF : les 76kg
Comme au dernier championnat du monde, la catégorie de poids des 76kg, pleine à craquer de médaillées mondiales et olympiques, monopolisera l'attention du public.

La favorite est la deuxième mondiale Yasemin ADAR (TUR), championne du monde en 2017. Elle n'a que deux points de retard sur la quadruple championne du monde Adeline GRAY (USA) et il est probable qu'elle lui chipe la première place puisque Gray ne sera pas présente au Yasar Dogu.

Ce ne sera cependant pas une sinécure pour Adar, opposée à la troisième mondiale Aline FOCKEN (GER) et à la championne olympique de Rio Erica WIEBE (CAN), toutes deux déterminées à faire entendre leurs voix.

Focken pourrait bousculer les classements et passer devant Gray. Si ses résultats lors des trois événements de série précédents sont indicatifs de ce dont elle est capable, le risque est considérable pour Gray : elle est chaque fois repartie avec une médaille de bronze.

La championne olympique Erica Wiebe est également en passe d'obtenir l'une des quatre têtes de série des mondiaux. Elle est actuellement classée cinquième, à tout juste deux points de Hiroe MINAGAWA SUZUKI (JPN).

Vu comment Wiebe a lutté ces dernières semaines, il est à peu près certain qu'elle se retrouvera en quatrième tête de série à Noursoultan. Au Sassari de la fin mai dernier, Wiebe s'est défaite de la championne olympique Natalia VORBIEVA (RUS) en première période, avant de vaincre la championne du monde en titre Justina DI STASIO (CAN) et remporter la Coupe du Canada il y a 15 jours.

Trois médaillées mondiales en lice pour une tête de série en 57kg
Six lutteuses inscrites au Yasar Dogu dans la catégorie des 57kg font partie du top 20 mondial. Tous les regards seront tournés vers Pooja DHANDA (IND), Odunayo ADEKUOROYE (NGR) et Emese BARKA (HUN), classées respectivement 4, 5 et 6mes avec seulement six points d'écart entre chacune d'elles. Toute prévision est aléatoire, d'autant plus que leurs trajets sont plutôt irréguliers.

Il n'est pas sûr que la troisième classée mondial Bilyana DUDOVA (BUL) soit à Noursoultan en septembre, et avec Dhanda, Adekuoroye et Barka toutes capables de médailler au Yasar Dogu, il est fort à croire que les 3 et 4mes têtes de série seront redéfinies ce weekend.

En addition aux lutteuses classées inscrites en 57kg, la Canadienne Alexandria TOWN, championne du monde en titre des U23, bien qu'elle ne soit pas classée, est capable de créer la surprise.

Livach à 5 points de la tête de série No.1
La double championne du monde Yui SUSAKI (JPN) a échoué le weekend dernier lors de son éliminatoire face à Yuki IRIE (JPN), et laisse sa première place du classement mondial à la médaillée mondiale de bronze Oksana LIVACH (UKR). Le départ bde Susaki permet également à Kseniya STANKEVICH (BLR) d'atteindre le top 4 des têtes de série du championnat du monde.

Les deux bénéficiaires du retrait de Susaki seront sur les tapis du Yasar Dogu.

Livach est, sans hésitation, la favorite du titre des 50kg de la compétition et n'a besoin que de 5 points pour s'assurer la tête de série No.1 aux mondiaux. Stankevich, elle, détient un avantage de quatre points sur la Turque Evin DEMIRHAN et garde son destin dans ses mains. Si elle lutte dignement, elle obtiendra la quatrième tête de série des mondiaux. Sinon, la porte sera ouverte pour Demirhan, Seema SEEMA (IND) et Fredrika Ida PETERSSON (SWE).

Seema et Petersson sont classées 8 et 9mes, à moins de huit points de Stankevich.

Weicker et Valverde Melendres se disputeront la tête de série No.4 des 53kg
Sept lutteuses classées sont inscrites dans la catégorie de poids des 53kg, et grande attention doit être donnée à Diana WEICKER (CAN) et Luisa VALVERDE MELENDRES (ECU).

Médaillée de bronze des derniers mondiaux, Weicker entre au Yasar Dogu munie de 53 points et est classée quatrième mondiale tandis que Valverde Melendrez occupe la cinquième place à tout juste cinq points d'écart de Weicker.

Les tableaux seront publiés aujourd'hui et la compétition débute jeudi à 11 heure, heure locale.

UWW publie les derniers classements de lutte libre

CORSIER-SUR-VEVEY, Suisse (20 mars) -- Après deux événements de la Ranking Series, United World Wrestling a publié le dernier classement en lutte libre. Bien qu'il y ait eu quelques changements dans la première place, un mouvement considérable a été observé dans le top 10..

Les derniers classements seront cruciaux pour déterminer les quatre premières têtes de série des championnats continentaux qui débuteront par les Championnats d'Asie le 9 avril suivis des Championnats d'Europe le même mois. Les championnats panaméricains et les championnats d'Afrique auront lieu en mai.

Les points de classement pris en compte sont ceux des Championnats du Monde et des deux épreuves Ranking Series. Voici une ventilation des classements:

57kg

La catégorie de poids continue d'être titrée par le champion du monde Zelimkhan ABAKAROV (ALB) qui a 45 000 points, tous issus de la médaille d'or à Belgrade. Il est suivi de Thomas GILMAN (USA) avec 37000 points pour son argent.

Précédemment numéro trois, Zanabazar ZANDANBUD (MGL) a été poussé à la quatrième place par Wanhao ZOU (CHN). Il a 35555 points sur les 31000 points de Zandanbud. Zou a récolté 5480 points à Zagreb et 5075 points à Alexandrie pour passer à la troisième place.

Darian CRUZ (PUR) a été le prochain grand sauteur à passer de la neuvième à la sixième place après sa huitième place à Zagreb pour 6200 points et 5100 points pour sa 12e place en Egypte.

Beka BUJIASHVILI (GEO), qui a commencé l'année à la 12e place, est remonté à la huitième place avec 23880 points, grâce à sa médaille de bronze à Zagreb et sa 10e place à Alexandrie. Aliabbas RZAZADE cumule également 18400 points et passe de la 13ème à la 9ème place du classement.

61kg

Reza ATRI (IRI), a silver medalist from World Championships, began the year at 37000 points and was second-period world champion Rei HIGUCHI (JPN) who has 45000 points. Atri now has come equal to Higuchu with 45000 points for his gold medal in Zagreb. However, he still remains second to Higuchi.

The third and fourth places, Narankhuu NARMANDAKH (MGL) and Arsen HARUTYUNYAN (ARM), have switched places. The latter has 41200 points while the former is at 37400 points from the earlier 31000 points for both.

Harutyunyan won the bronze medal in Alexandria worth 10200 points while Narmandakh was a silver medalist in Zagreb for 6200 points. Harutyunyan got more points since the number of participants in 61kg in Alexandria was much higher.

The only other mover in this weight class is Jahongirmirza TUROBOV (UZB) who is now at the seventh spot with 22500 points, up from 14300 points. He achieved this feat after an eighth-place finish in Alexandria.

Ulukbek ZHOLDOSHBEKOV (KGZ) broke into the top 10 after getting 7800 points at the Ibrahim Moustafa, replacing Islam DUDAEV (ALB) from the list.

65kg

La première place en 65 kg reste inchangée puisque le champion du monde Rahman AMOUZAD (IRI) est premier avec 45 000 points. Cependant, d'autres positions ont vu beaucoup de changement.

Le médaillé de bronze à Belgrade Ismail MUSUKAEV (HUN) est passé de la troisième place à la deuxième place avec 9000 points pour sa cinquième place à l'Open de Zagreb. Il compte désormais 40000 points pour remplacer John DIAKOMIHALIS (USA).

Sebastian RIVERA (PUR) est également passé de la cinquième à la troisième place après avoir obtenu 14050 points en deux tournois. Il a terminé 14e à Zagreb pour 5050 points mais a réussi à atteindre la cinquième place à Alexandrie pour remporter 9000 points.

Ces changements ont propulsé le médaillé d'argent de Belgrade Diakomihalis à la quatrième place et le médaillé de bronze Bajrang PUNIA (IND) à la cinquième place.

Joseph MCKENNA (USA) est entré dans le top 10 avec des médailles d'argent à Zagreb et à Alexandrie qui valaient 11400 points chacune. Son total de 22800 lui a suffi pour décrocher la septième place.

Vazgen TEVANYAN (ARM) était 11e avec 9000 points en début d'année mais a remporté la médaille d'or à Alexandrie pour obtenir 13000 points et remonter à la huitième place avec un total de 22000 points.

Agustin DESTRIBATS (ARG) est juste derrière avec 21880 points puisqu'il a terminé 10e à Zagreb pour 7480 points et a amélioré sa place pour la neuvième à Alexandrie pour 7800 points supplémentaires pour entrer dans le top 10.

Abbos RAKHMONOV (UZB) est passé de la 7e à la 10e place avec 18200 points.

70kg

Un autre champion du monde qui continue à garder la première place est Taishi NARIKUNI (JPN) qui a 45000 points. Mais le médaillé d'argent, Zain RETHERFORD (USA) a été remplacé par le médaillé de bronze Ernazar AKMATALIEV (KGZ) qui compte désormais 42000 points contre 37000 points pour Retherford. Il a obtenu 11000 points pour sa médaille d'or à Alexandrie.

Arrive en quatrième place Arman ANDREASYAN (ARM) classé cinquième à Belgrade avec 31520 points alors qu'il a terminé septième à Alexandrie avec 6520 points. Il a dépassé Zurabi IAKOBISHVILI (GEO) qui n'a plus couru depuis les Championnats du Monde.

Aucun autre changement n'a été observé dans cette catégorie de poids.

74kg

Kyle DAKE (USA) continue d'occuper la première place avec 45 000 points en 74 kg. Il a remporté les championnats du monde pour ces points et personne ne l'a défié jusqu'à présent.

Le médaillé de bronze Yones EMAMI (IRI) a bondi à la deuxième place avec sa médaille d'or à Zagreb avec 11400 points pour cet effort. Il compte désormais 42400 points, 325 de plus que Tajmuraz SALKAZANOV (SVK) qui a terminé 13ème à Zagreb.

La moitié inférieure a connu de nombreux changements puisque Frank CHAMIZO (ITA) est sorti du top 10 et la quatrième place est prise par Soner DEMIRTAS (TUR) tandis que Sagar JAGLAN (IND) arrive cinquième avec 30800 points.

Septième, Mitchell FINESILVER (ISR) a accumulé 18720 points avec sa médaille de bronze à Alexandrie et sa septième place à Zagreb. Suldkhuu OLONBAYAR (MGL) reste huitième malgré son amélioration de 17000 points à 18200 points.

Le seul autre changement est la place de numéro 10 qui est désormais reprise par Lawrence LAVALLEE (USA) avec 16800 points, en remplacement de Daichi TAKATANI (JPN).

Les deux premiers en 79 kg sont restés inchangés pour la deuxième année consécutive puisque Jordan BURROUGHS (USA) occupe la première place et Mohammad NOKHODI (IRI) est deuxième.

Au début de l'année, Bekzod ABDURAKHMONOV (UZB) était cinquième mais il a obtenu 10200 points dans la nouvelle année pour passer troisième avec 35200 points. Il a repoussé les médaillés de bronze mondiaux Arsalan BUDAZHAPOV (KGZ) et Vasyl MYKHAILOV (UKR) aux quatrième et cinquième places.

Arman AVAGYAN (ARM) a changé sa position de 10ème à 7ème avec une cinquième place à Alexandrie. Il a obtenu 9000 points pour cette performance.

L'autre entrant dans le top 10 est Avtandil KENTCHADZE (GEO) qui est au neuvième rang avec 19400 points, grâce à son argent à Zagreb et son or à Alexandrie. Comme il s'agissait de ses deux premières compétitions à 79 kg, il n'avait aucun point antérieur.

Hassan YAZDANI (IRI) a remporté la médaille d'or à l'Open de Zagreb et cela lui a suffi pour dépasser le champion du monde David TAYLOR (USA) pour la première place avec 48 000 points. Taylor a 45 000 points. Taylor a glissé à la troisième place lorsque Boris MAKOEV (SVK) est passé de 31000 points à 46200 points avec une huitième place à Zagreb et une cinquième à Alexandrie.

Sebastian JEZIERZANSKI (POL) a progressé de deux rangs sa quatrième place avec 38275 points. Il a terminé 13e à Zagreb mais a réussi à remporter une médaille de bronze à Alexandrie qui lui a donné 10200 points.

Ethan RAMOS (PUR) reste cinquième mais compte 9000 points de plus qu'en commençant l'année, avec 25000 points. Azamat DAULETBEKOV (KAZ) n'a plus couru depuis les Championnats du Monde et occupe la sixième place.

Myles AMINE (SMR) a progressé d'une place à la septième place tandis que Zahid VALENCIA (USA) a fait son entrée dans le top 10 après les deux épreuves de Ranking Series. Il a commencé à la 15e place avec une médaille de bronze à Zagreb mais a ajouté une médaille d'argent à Alexandrie pour passer à la huitième place avec 19600 points.

Tarzan MAISURADZE (GEO) est neuvième tandis qu'Abubakr ABAKAROV (AZE) est dixième avec 16000 points.

92kg

Les quatre médaillés des Championnats du monde continuent d'occuper les quatre premières places du classement des 92 kg mais l'ordre a changé. Le champion du monde Kamran GHASEMPOUR (IRI) a 45000 points au sommet.

Plus tôt à la quatrième place, Miriani MAISURADZE (GEO) est désormais deuxième avec 42600 points. Il a remporté une médaille d'argent à Zagreb pour 6400 points et une de bronze à Alexandrie pour 5200 points.

Il a remplacé Jden COX (USA) qui a maintenant glissé à la troisième place tandis que son compatriote médaillé de bronze mondial Osman NURMAGOMEDOV (AZE) reste quatrième avec 36200 points, 5200 points de plus qu'au début de l'année.

Gankhuyag GANBAATAR (MGL) passe de la neuvième à la septième place avec 20700 points alors qu'il a obtenu 5200 points pour sa médaille de bronze à Zagreb. Il a réussi à maintenir Illia ARCHAIA (UKR) à la huitième place qui a obtenu 2480 points de plus que ses 17000 points du début de l'année. Simone IANNATTONI (ITA) rétrograde à la neuvième place avec 18200 points.

Kollin MOORE (USA) est le nouveau venu au classement et il est numéro 10 avec 16000 points. Il a obtenu 8000 points, chacun pour ses médailles d'or à Zagreb et à Alexandrie.

Batyrbek TSAKULOV (SVK) a réussi à réduire l'écart entre lui et le numéro un Kyle SNYDER (USA) à 6000 points contre 8000 points mais il reste toujours à la deuxième place. Snyder a 56 000 points tandis que Tsakulov a 50 000 points.

Il a été remplacé par Magomedkhan MAGOMEDOV (AZE) après l'Open de Zagreb mais Tsakulov a réussi à reprendre cette position à Magomedov en remportant la médaille d'or à Alexandrie. Magomedov a maintenant été propulsé au rang quatre alors que Vladislav BATISAEV (HUN) est passé de la cinquième à la troisième après une neuvième place à Zagreb et une médaille de bronze à Alexandrie. Givi MATCHARASHVILI (GEO), qui était troisième, est maintenant cinquième malgré l'amélioration de ses points de 31000 points à 36013 points.

Benjamin HONIS (ITA) et Zbigniew BARANOWSKI (POL) 17920 sont les nouveaux entrants dans le top 10. Honis a 20280 points pour ses apparitions à Zagreb et Alexandrie où il a terminé respectivement 10ème et 5ème. The weight class continues to be headlined by world champion Zelimkhan ABAKAROV (ALB) who has 45000 points, all from the gold medal in Belgrade. He is followed by Thomas GILMAN (USA) with 37000 points for his silver.

Previously number three Zanabazar ZANDANBUD (MGL) has been pushed to fourth by Wanhao ZOU (CHN). He has 35555 points over Zandanbud's 31000 points. Zou collected 5480 points in Zagreb and 5075 points in Alexandria to jump to third.

Darian CRUZ (PUR) was the next big jumper who moved from ninth to sixth spot after his eighth-place finish in Zagreb for 6200 points and 5100 points for 12th finish in Egypt.

Beka BUJIASHVILI (GEO), who began the year at the 12th spot, has moved up to eighth with 23880 points, thanks to his bronze medal in Zagreb and 10th place finish in Alexandria. Aliabbas RZAZADE also accumulated 18400 points and has moved from 13th to ninth spot in the rankings.

Reza ATRI (IRI), a silver medalist from World Championships, began the year at 37000 points and was second-period world champion Rei HIGUCHI (JPN) who has 45000 points. Atri now has come equal to Higuchu with 45000 points for his gold medal in Zagreb. However, he still remains second to Higuchi.

Ulukbek ZHOLDOSHBEKOV (KGZ) broke into the top 10 after getting 7800 points at the Ibrahim Moustafa, replacing Islam DUDAEV (ALB) from the list.

The top spot at 65kg remains unchanged as world champion Rahman AMOUZAD (IRI) sits first with 45000 points. However, other positions have seen a lot of moving.

Bronze medalist in Belgrade Ismail MUSUKAEV (HUN) has jumped to the second spot from third with 9000 points for his fifth-place finish at Zagreb Open. He now has 40000 points to replace John DIAKOMIHALIS (USA).

Sebastian RIVERA (PUR) has also moved from fifth spot to third after getting 14050 points in two tournaments. He finished 14th in Zagreb for 5050 points but managed to reach fifth in Alexandria to claim 9000 points.

These changes have pushed Belgrade silver medalist Diakomihalis to fourth and bronze medalist Bajrang PUNIA (IND) to fifth.

Joseph MCKENNA (USA) has broken into the top 10 with silver medals in Zagreb and Alexandria which were worth 11400 points each. His total of 22800 was enough for him to get the seventh spot.

Vazgen TEVANYAN (ARM) was 11th with 9000 points at the start of the year but won the gold medal in Alexandria to get 13000 points and push his place to eighth with a total of 22000 points.

Coming at number nine is Agustin DESTRIBATS (ARG) who is just behind with 21880 points as he finished 10th in Zagreb for 7480 points and improve one spot to ninth in Alexandria for another 7800 points to break into the top-10.

Abbos RAKHMONOV (UZB) has slipped from seventh to 10th with 18200 points.

Another world champion who continues to keep the top spot is Taishi NARIKUNI (JPN) who has 45000 points. But the silver medalist, Zain RETHERFORD (USA) has been displaced by bronze medalist Ernazar AKMATALIEV (KGZ) who now has 42000 points to Retherford's 37000 points. He got 11000 points for his gold medal in Alexandria.

Coming in at four is the fifth placer in Belgrade Arman ANDREASYAN (ARM) with 31520 points as he finished seventh in Alexandria for 6520 points. He has overtaken Zurabi IAKOBISHVILI (GEO) who has not competed since the World Championships.

No other changes were seen in this weight class.

Kyle DAKE (USA) continues to be at the top spot with 45000 points at 74kg. He won the World Championships for those points and no one has challenged him thus far.

Bronze medalist Yones EMAMI (IRI) has jumped to second with his gold medal in Zagreb as he got 11400 points for that effort. He now has 42400 points, 325 more than Tajmuraz SALKAZANOV (SVK) who finished 13th in Zagreb.

The lower half has seen many changes as Frank CHAMIZO (ITA) is out of the top 10 and the fourth spot it taken by Soner DEMIRTAS (TUR) while Sagar JAGLAN (IND) comes in at fifth with 30800 points.

At number seven, Mitchell FINESILVER (ISR) has accumulated 18720 points with his bronze in Alexandria and seventh place finish in Zagreb. Suldkhuu OLONBAYAR (MGL) remains at eighth despite him improving from 17000 points to 18200 points.

The only other change is the number 10 spot which is now taken over by Lawrence LAVALLEE (USA) with 16800 points, replacing Daichi TAKATANI (JPN).

The top two at 79kg have remained changed for the second year running as Jordan BURROUGHS (USA) sits at the number one spot and Mohammad NOKHODI (IRI) is second.

At the start of the year, Bekzod ABDURAKHMONOV (UZB) was fifth but he has got 10200 points in the new year to jump to number three with 35200 points. He has pushed world bronze medalists Arsalan BUDAZHAPOV (KGZ) and Vasyl MYKHAILOV (UKR) to number four and five.

Arman AVAGYAN (ARM) has changed his position from 10th to seventh with a fifth place finish in Alexandria. He got 9000 points for that performance.

The other entrant into the top 10 is Avtandil KENTCHADZE (GEO) who is at number nine with 19400 points, thanks to his silver in Zagreb and gold in Alexandria. Since those were his first two competitions at 79kg, he did not have any previous points.

Hassan YAZDANI (IRI) won the gold medal at Zagreb Open and that was enough for him to overtake world champion David TAYLOR (USA) for the top spot with 48000 points. Taylor has 45000 points. Taylor slipped to third when Boris MAKOEV (SVK) jumped from 31000 points to 46200 points with eighth place in Zagreb and fifth at Alexandria.

Sebastian JEZIERZANSKI (POL) improved two ranks to fourth with 38275 points. He finished 13th in Zagreb but managed to win a bronze medal in Alexandria which gave him 10200 points.

Ethan RAMOS (PUR) remains fifth but has 9000 points more than he began the year with 25000 points. Azamat DAULETBEKOV (KAZ) has not competed since the World Championships and is in the sixth spot.

Myles AMINE (SMR) has improved one spot to seventh while Zahid VALENCIA (USA) has broken into the top 10 after the two Ranking Series events. He began at 15th with a bronze medal in Zagreb but added a silver in Alexandria to move to the eighth spot with 19600 points.

Tarzan MAISURADZE (GEO) is in the ninth spot while Abubakr ABAKAROV (AZE) is tenth with 16000 points.

The four World Championships medalists continue to occupy the top four spots in the rankings at 92kg but the order has changed. World champion Kamran GHASEMPOUR (IRI) has 45000 points at the top.

Earlier in the fourth spot, Miriani MAISURADZE (GEO) is now second with 42600 points. He won a silver medal in Zagreb for 6400 points and a bronze in Alexandria for 5200 points.

He replaced Jden COX (USA) who has now slipped to third while fellow world bronze medalist Osman NURMAGOMEDOV (AZE) remains fourth with 36200 points, 5200 points more than at the start of the year.

Gankhuyag GANBAATAR (MGL) moves from ninth to seventh with 20700 points as he got 5200 points for his bronze medal in Zagreb. He managed to keep Illia ARCHAIA (UKR) at eighth who got 2480 points more than his 17000 points at the start of the year. Simone IANNATTONI (ITA) moves down to ninth with 18200 points.

Kollin MOORE (USA) is the newcomer in the rankings and he is at number 10 with 16000 points. He got 8000 points each for his gold medals in Zagreb and Alexandria.

Batyrbek TSAKULOV (SVK) managed to trim the gap between him and number one ranked Kyle SNYDER (USA) to 6000 points from 8000 points but he still remains at the second spot. Snyder has 56000 points while Tsakulov has 50000 points.

He was replaced by Magomedkhan MAGOMEDOV (AZE) after Zagreb Open but Tsakulov managed to retake that position from Magomedov by winning the gold medal in Alexandria. Magomedov has now been pushed to number four as Vladislav BATISAEV (HUN) improved from fifth to third after a ninth-place finish in Zagreb and a bronze medal in Alexandria. Givi MATCHARASHVILI (GEO), who was third, is now fifth despite improving his points from 31000 points to 36013 points.

Benjamin HONIS (ITA) and Zbigniew BARANOWSKI (POL) 17920 are the new entrants in the top 10. Honis has 20280 points for his appearances in Zagreb and Alexandria in which he finished 10th and fifth respectively. Honis began his year at the 15th spot with 5800 points but got 5480 points in Zagreb to jump to 11th and 9000 points more in Alexandria to improve to seventh.

Baranowski began his rankings from Zagreb as he got 6520 points to be placed 20th. However, he won silver in Alexandria and moved to the ninth spot with 17920 points.
